Emsworth - May 18, 2019
Online reservation closes May 18, 2019 5:00 pm
Emsworth is a Saxon market town with a rich maritime history nestling on the shores of Chichester harbour in East Hampshire, bordering Sussex. The vibrant town, with narrow streets, Georgian houses and walled gardens, is picturesque and gives the feel of being back in Ye Olde England. The main town square leads directly to the gentle lapping shores of the Northern arm of Chichester Harbour where you will find Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club, our base for the National Championships. The club sits in the old Mill House which is a beautiful building with direct access to the harbour. The Mill House straddles the Harbour and a sluice gated piece of water called the Slipper Mill Pond. The Slipper Mill Pond offers completely sheltered waist deep water with an esplanade running around and the balcony of the Mill House over hanging.
We invite you to join us for an idyllic days paddling with racing straight outside the venue on the sheltered, safe and clean waters of the Slipper Mill Pond for sprints and mid distance technical racing before enjoying the coastal paddle in Chichester Harbour for the long distance race where you’ll never be short of a view.
